Mark F. Swary

Executive Vice President

I have practiced law for over forty years focusing on estate planning, estate and trust settlement and administration and family business succession planning. I am now very excited to be a founding member of Western Reserve Trust Company (“WRTC”) which is a natural extension of my many years as a practicing attorney.

I have had the opportunity to work with first, second and in many instances third generation family members who have established or who are beneficiaries of multi-generational trusts. My experience working with these individuals and families, together with the complementary and unique skills of my colleagues at WRTC, positions us well to fully understand our clients’ needs and provide unparalleled trust administration services.

Mark Swary is a co-founder of Western Reserve Trust Company and has over 45 years of experience in the trusts and estates industry.  Mark focuses on strategic planning, client relations, and development and community outreach.

Prior to co-founding WRTC, Mark was a partner at the law firm Hahn Loeser & Parks, and co-chair of the firm’s Estate Planning, Wealth Transfer & Preservation Section.  He specialized in estate planning, general corporate, and succession planning areas, as well as the administration of complex estates and trusts.

Mark is a Fellow of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel and is an Ohio State Bar Association Certified Specialist in Estate Planning, Trust, and Probate Law.  He is also a charter member, past President, and former member of the Board of Directors of Attorneys for Family-Held Enterprises.  He was inducted into the Society of Benchers of Case Western Reserve Law School in 2006.  Mark is also a charter member and served as initial President of the Estate Planning Advisory Council of Case Western Reserve University.

He and his wife, Connie, live in Shaker Heights and have four adult children.  Mark enjoys hiking, cooking, traveling, and supporting Cleveland sports teams.
